性质：白色片状或棱柱形结晶或灰白色灰末。极易溶于水，能溶于水，能溶于稀。易潮解。该品的钠盐或钾盐称G盐（C10H6K2O7S2），为白色针状结晶，易溶于水。在淡的碱液中呈微紫色。
制备方法：由2-萘酚经磺化、盐析而得，同时副产R酸。原料消耗定额：2-萘酸760kg/t、硫酸（98%）500kg/t、氯化钾（93%）940kg/t、发烟硫酸（含SO320%）1250kg/t。
用途：用作染料中间体，是重要的偶合组分，与重氮组分偶合生产酸性大红3R、酸性络合紫5RW、弱酸大红G等染料，也可制备染料中间体γ酸。
