The invention discloses a highly effective process of extracting refined nickel from depleted electrolyte of electrolytic copper in non-ferrous metal metallurgy industry. The method comprises the following steps: adding ammonia or ammonium hydrogen carbonate for neutralization, replacing it with ferrous powder, oxygenizing it with O2 and crystallization and so on. The nickel content in the obtained nickel oxide is more than 75%, and the purity of product is high. The recovery ratio can reach to 95%, and the synthetic economic benefit is more than 60% compared with present process.
