    A protecting unit for the ink-jet head of an ink box is composed of a casing base with the first moving path parallel to the bottom surface of casing base and the second moving path perpendicular to said bottom surface, a slide block sliding back and forth in said first moving path and with at least one pair of guide slots, a cover holder sliding back and forth in said second moving path and with two side flanges embedded in said guide slots, and a cover on said cover holder.
