Disclosed is a fluid control valve, particularly a hot water valve, comprising two valve elements, i.e. a valve seat (6) and a closing element (7) that cooperates with the valve seat (6) in a specific contact region, and an actuating device (9). One of the two valve elements (6, 7) is provided with an elastomeric element, at least on the side facing the other valve element (7, 6). The aim of the invention is to create, in a simple manner, a progressive characteristic curve of the valve. Said aim is achieved by providing at least one of the two valve elements (6, 7) with a precontact zone (12) in which contact between the valve seat (6) and the closing element (7) is limited to a predetermined partial area of the contact region, said partial area having a predetermined deformation behavior while applying a predetermined force which counteracts the approach of the closing element (7) and the valve seat (6).
