This invention relates to a preparation process of new efficient getters which are made of zirconium and zirconium-contained alloy or nonmetallic composites. First, spongy zirconium is processed into ZrHx by means of hydrogen absorption and then ZrHx is mixed with zirconium alloy powders or nonmetals and molded. Finally, the consequent matter is directly made into getters with different shapes after dehydrogenation or repeated hydrogen adsorption-desorption.
