    This invention publishes a synthesis method for menthylformylamine, in which carboxylic acid chloride resulted from menthyl carbonate and thionyl chloride by heating further reacts with ethylamine to produce terminal product. Menthyl carbonate and thionyl chloride are added into a three-neck flask equipped with a thermometer and a reflux condenser for 1 hours reflux at a temperature of 80 deg.C, and then the excessive thionyl chloride is recycled while the consequent carboxylic acid chloride is dissolved in ether solvent. A 70% ethylamine solution is added to another three-neck flask equipped with a stirrer, a thermometer and a dropping funnel and the ethyl ether solution of carboxylic acid chloride mentioned is dropped in. After reaction, oily layer is water-washed with solvent recycled, cooled down to room temperature, crystallized and dried to obtain menthylformylamine. This invention has the advantages of a high yield and little byproduct.
