    This invention disclosesa a method for media gateway (MG) monitor and event report including: pre-setting events on a MG, when the gateway operates, it monitors the pre-set event automatically and reports the monitored result to a gateway controller. Said event includes: off-hook, ring-off, dialing numbers, network faults, quality alarming and overtime of a timer.
