    This invention discloses an YPJ method for measuring the strength of gel formed after water-absorbing resin having absorbed water. This method utilizes the characteristics of high water-absorbing resin that, even if pressure is applied to it, water almost can not be squeezed out of the gel which is formed by its expansion after it absorbs water, and for mensuration, the gel is squeezed out by a certain volume under pressure. By control of squeezed quantity and weighing squeezed gel, its compressive strength and compressive energy may be calculated. This method features high accuracy and good repeatability.
