    A kind of low energy consumption method for producing formol by the oxidative dehydrogenation of methanol to air under the action of silver catalyst mainly features that behind the rapid cooling waste heat boiler, a soft water preheating section utilizing high temp gas reaction product to preheat soft water is installed. The product gas out of the soft water preheating section is led in the shell of the superheater and the product gas out of the shell of the superheater is led in the tube of methanol evaporator, the product methanol vapor out of evaporator goes into the three-section countercurrent absorbing condencing tower. Over the catalyst layer of the reactor used in said process, a gas distributor constructed by screen plates is installed.
