A nylon 6/SiO 2 nano-composite was obtained through a novel method,in situ polymerization. The inorganic particals were very small and well dispersed in the nano-compositions. Result showed that mechanical properties were the highest when nano-SiO 2 was 3.6%. Compared to pure Nylon 6, the Utype notch impact strength,elastic modulus, tensile strength, elongation of nylon 6/SiO 2 nano composite increased by 13%,19%,18%,and 35% respectively.
