The viscosity(μ) of Fe-xC(x = 2. 0-4. 30%) molten alloy was measured by oscillating crucible viscometer. The results show that the fluidity (1/μ) of the eutectic Fe-C alloy has linear relationship with temperature and free volume. At 1 350 and 1 450℃, the fluidity increases with increasing carbon content, which is related to the increase of superheat and the free volume of Fe-xC melt.
